COSMETIC Veneers & Lumineers

If you have large gaps between your teeth or if you have teeth that are misshapen, stained, or slanted, you may be interested in veneers. Cosmetic veneers are thin porcelain facets that are placed on the front of the tooth to correct appearance, shape, or misalignment.

Veneers are often used as a way to improve the appearance of teeth if they are worn down or broken, but they can also strengthen your teeth by correcting their natural alignment and shape.

The veneer procedure requires multiple visits to the dentist. The first visit will involve an examination and treatment plan for the procedure. The dentist will check your teeth to make sure veneers are appropriate for your situation. The dentist may also move forward with the next step on the first visit and will begin to prepare your tooth for the veneer.

In order for the veneer to fit on your tooth, the dentist will have to remove a small layer of tooth structure where the veneer will be placed. This process is irreversible, so make sure you speak to your dentist about it carefully before you begin. Once the layer is removed, your dentist will make an impression of the modified tooth structure to be used to make the veneer.

While the custom veneer is being created in a dental lab, you'll be able to wear a temporary one to keep your exposed enamel protected. The next visit will be the bonding step. Your dentist will test the veneer on your tooth to see if it fits properly before using dental cement to permanently bond it to the tooth.

If you're concerned about the permanent damage to your teeth, you may want to ask your dentist about Lumineers. These paper-thin veneer alternatives don't require any preparation of your natural teeth.

Lumineers are thin enough to fit directly on the surface of a damaged tooth, yet strong and effective enough to fix cracks, chips, discolorations, or misalignments. If your teeth need to be repaired, talk to your dentist about the possibility of using Lumineers as an alternative to traditional porcelain veneers.

Lumineers simply snap on the fronts of your teeth for a flawless and natural appearance.
